Cbank wants Russian to have right to suspend mortgage payments
MOSCOW, Dec 4 (PRIME) -- The Russian central bank offers to stipulate by law a citizen’s right to suspend mortgage payments in case of a job loss, First Deputy Chairman Sergei Shvetsov said at a roundtable talk at the Federation Council on Tuesday.
“We suggest a mortgage standard include an opportunity for a person to pay no mortgage temporarily,” Shvetsov said.
He said that illnesses and accidents leading to work incapacity can also be put on the list of reasons for a grace period, he said.
